Meeting you where you are…

Are you looking for peace of mind, connection, purpose, fulfillment, or freedom from depression and anxiety? Do you want to cultivate a deeper, more meaningful relationship with others and your life? Is there a sense of missing something and wanting more from yourself or others? Many of the clients I work with today recognize they need support with navigating and working through thoughts and emotions related to these areas or challenges of life.

My practice is eclectic in that I find value in a range of approaches and theories in counseling. Underlying all is a person-centered approach which means I am following your lead in focus, depth and frequency of our sessions.

My expertise includes a trauma-informed approach that is complimented and guided by creativity or expressive arts. Navigating life transitions is a specialty. I have many years of experience in supporting clients who are dealing with grief related to serious illness or loss of a loved one. The most common concern for the majority of my clients is their experience of anxiety or depression.

I will meet you right where you are; that is the place where we begin to light the way towards healing and coming to know ourselves.

Relationship support

The work we do in therapy is in the context of relationships: to ourselves, a partner, family members or friends. We are most at peace when we have the kind of authentic connections in our life that bring fulfillment and purpose. Learning skills that allow us to communicate and relate well and to set boundaries is an important part of this work. Your path to more fulfilling relationships can begin here.

Trauma-informed practice is essential in this work.

Learning about our brain’s response to trauma and how it can continue to react to triggers is key. Expressive arts are particularly helpful in managing the impact of trauma as we engage with them on a sensory level, where trauma is stored. Having a therapist who is experienced and trained to support you in transforming the effects of traumatic events is essential for healing. We will safely shine a light on the areas that are interfering with your day-today-life so that you can
